Job Summary and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, the Critical Care Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment strategies to meet the nursing department's objectives.
You will play a crucial role within the interdependent team, responsible for achieving favorable patient and departmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients with critical conditions and ventilator support, responding to emergencies and initiating protocols as necessary.
- Facilitate the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for examinations, and general nursing care.
- Educate patients and families on medication and treatment plans.
- Maintain and update patient records, including test results and examination findings.
- Administer medications according to physician directives.
- Conduct daily checks of patient rooms for necessary supplies.
- Handle incoming calls, including triage when required.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is mandatory.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross is preferred and must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Previous experience in acute care nursing is advantageous.
