About the Opportunity

The Northeastern University Children's School is seeking a qualified Preschool Teacher to join our team. As a member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning and supervision of an exemplary curriculum for our designated program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the program Head and Lead Teachers to develop and implement a curriculum linked to the Early Childhood Foundations and California Preschool Curriculum frameworks.
  • Child and Adult Learning: Engage in teacher-led inquiry to continuously improve instruction and support the development of child and adult learning.
  • Representative Duties:
    • Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities and support of children.
    • Use academic and social-emotional curriculum to ensure the safety and well-being of children in the program.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of activities that promote child development and learning.
    • Maintain active and open communication with parents/guardians of the children and with other members of the Children's School staff.
    • Participate in and support auxiliary events, recruitment/admissions, development/fund-raising, and academic conferences.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Two or more years of recent successful classroom teaching experience and 12 Early Childhood/Child Development Education Units.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of a Constructivist, Experiential model of education and a commitment to an inclusive, culturally sustaining education model.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and the ability to exhibit strong service orientation for all levels of College constituencies and members of the public.
  • Clearance: Position is contingent upon fingerprinting/background check clearance and tuberculosis clearance.
