Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team at The Greenbrier Companies. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for operating machines within the machine shop to produce parts to dimensional tolerances called out on CAD drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines to produce parts with high precision and accuracy
  • Modify existing CNC programs based on component specifications
  • Adjust feeds and speeds to maintain optimal cutting conditions and maximize tool life
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to check part dimensions
  • Read and interpret print drawings to ensure part dimensions meet specifications
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Train machine operators on procedures and best practices
Requirements
  • Ability to learn and understand all levels of machine operations and multiple machine functionality
  • Ability to focus and pay close attention to detail while managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to use or learn to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Ability to evaluate tooling wear and adjust speed and feed rates accordingly
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team setting
  • Ability to recognize defects and out-of-tolerance measurements and escalate issues to management
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and modify machine programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to three years of work experience in a production environment
  • Ability to operate all machines within the facility
  • Experience working with heavy industrial equipment and machinery
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with exposure to various environmental conditions. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment as needed. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
