Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our outpatient surgery department at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Surgical Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care before, during, and after surgery. This includes obtaining necessary supplies and equipment, administering medication and IV therapy, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Prepare and monitor patients for surgeries and procedures
  • Administer medication and IV therapy as prescribed by physicians
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
