Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ink Technician to join our team at Amcor plc. As an Ink Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality in our ink formulation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate batch ink mixing equipment to ensure accurate and consistent ink formulations.
  • Create and maintain color standards for our ink products.
  • Return, store, and use press returned inks to minimize waste and optimize inventory.
  • Formulate color matches for customer approval, utilizing your expertise in color theory and spectrophotometry.
  • Mix adhesives and coatings as required to support our packaging operations.
  • Conduct computerized color control to ensure precise color matching and quality control.
  • Clean and maintain the ink room and dispensing system to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Maintain and operate solvent distillation equipment to minimize waste and optimize resource usage.
  • Assist with inventory management of raw materials and supplies.
  • Support Press Assistants and Operators during changeovers and other tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Experience with effective color matching, color theory, and spectrophotometry.
  • Experience with press-side ink and color troubleshooting.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient mathematical skills and knowledge of metric conversion.
  • Ability to accurately see color and detect subtle variations.
  • Prior experience with ink, lamination, and adhesive handling.
  • Prior analytical result evaluation experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
