Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse, the Surgical Aide facilitates efficient patient flow and safe patient care in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients and equipment using standard precautions.
  • Clean and prepare beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs for patient transfer.
  • Present a professional image to staff, patients, and visitors, providing direction and information as needed.
  • Assist with surgical patient positioning, transfer, cast application, and removal under RN direction.
  • Retrieve and deliver items to other departments, responding promptly to assignments and requests.
  • Restock supplies, clean equipment, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Ensure patient transfer and transport equipment is functioning properly.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
