AmeriCare Plus is seeking a qualified Personal Care Aide to provide essential care services to our clients in their homes. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others while working in a rewarding and challenging environment.
Estimated Salary: $14-$18/hour based on location and experience.
About the RoleThe Personal Care Aide will be responsible for providing personalized care services to clients, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). This may include bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, ambulation, and change position, as well as assisting with eating or feeding and self-administered medication.
You will also be required to perform Home Maintenance Activities, such as preparing and serving meals, washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, making and changing linens, and cleaning the client's bedroom, bathroom, and rooms primarily used by the personal care recipient.
In addition to these tasks, you may also be responsible for accompanying clients with Medicaid Transport or family transport, subject to pre-approval and stated on the Plan of Care (POC).
Requirements- Certification as a CNA, NA, or PCA is required, with exception for Companion Aide to Private Pay.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Documentation of positive work history as evidenced by at least two work references on file.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- No more than 2 company or state barrier crimes.
- You must be able to speak, read, and write English and meet one of the following qualifications:
- Satisfactorily completed a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse licensure or practical nurse licensure.
- Satisfactorily completed a nurse aide education program approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Certification as a nurse aide issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Successfully enrolled in a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse or practical nurse licensure and currently completed at least one nursing course that includes clinical experience involving direct care.
- Satisfactorily passed a competency evaluation program that meets the criteria of 42 CFR 484.36(b).
