Job Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project operations at the regional office or job site, ensuring project goals are met through effective planning, scheduling, and execution of activities throughout all phases of the project until completion.
- Adhere to all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety protocols.
- Engage actively in the safety initiatives associated with assigned projects.
- Manage projects comprehensively from initiation to completion.
- Review contract specifications, scope of work, and special provisions, ensuring project team members are informed.
- Obtain quotes for materials, subcontractors, and engineering services from a minimum of three vendors.
- Assist in vendor selection and coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and shop drawings.
- Possess a thorough understanding of our building systems and their relation to the construction process.
- Develop and coordinate construction project schedules.
- Support and visit job sites, participating in and leading job meetings as necessary.
- Evaluate change requests and update project budgets accordingly.
- Prepare, review, and report on weekly production metrics.
- Discuss the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
- Prepare billing statements and authorize invoices for payment.
- Monitor project progress and expenditures, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Create and implement job schedules, coordinating with field supervisors and foremen while effectively communicating issues to optimize our position in the work sequence.
- Oversee labor management on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance, adjusting as needed to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, and project closeout processes.
- Account for job cost control measures through monthly financial projections on assigned projects.
- Provide leadership to the project team throughout the construction project lifecycle.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Construction Project Management.
- Experience in estimating, project management, and managing specialized construction scopes.
- Ability to identify and process critical information, recognizing key areas that may affect profitability, and proactively steering the project away from risks and liabilities.
- Proficient in interpreting specifications and drawings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and QuickBid. Experience with critical path method scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Capability to multitask, think critically, and solve problems effectively.
- Willingness to learn new skills and engage with the technical aspects of the job.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and follow through on assignments.
- Strong organizational skills and computer proficiency, with a high level of competency in reading, writing, and speaking English, interpreting construction-related documentation, and communicating with colleagues.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in the drywall industry.
- Local candidates are preferred.
