About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the IU Sleep Apnea Education Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive education, evaluation, and treatment of sleep disorders, including in-center patient care and direct patient education.

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will work closely with our clinical team to provide patient-centered care, manage patient compliance, and conduct follow-up evaluations. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about sleep disorders and the importance of proper treatment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the multifaceted disease processes that affect both sleep and wakefulness. You will also need to be able to work effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive education and evaluation of sleep disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders
  • Conduct in-center patient care and direct patient education
  • Manage patient compliance and conduct follow-up evaluations
  • Collaborate with clinical team to provide patient-centered care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
Requirements
  • Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana
  • Graduation from a CoARC and regionally accredited respiratory care program
  • Passing of the N.B.R.C. registry exam within 13 months of hire date
  • Healthcare Provider Certification
  • Preferred ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential patient information
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR
