Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician 2 to join our team at the City of Cincinnati. As a key member of our engineering unit, you will perform a wide range of technical staff functions related to surveying and drafting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare property plats and descriptions from survey notes and sketches
  • Research special projects and records
  • Assist Engineers with engineering calculations
  • Conduct accurate topographical, underground, preliminary, property, geodetic, and construction surveys
  • Mark and monument surveyed lines
  • Make field notes to ensure construction of public works projects is in accordance with City and State property laws and survey principles and practices
Requirements
  • Must have knowledge of all CET 1 duties and complete knowledge of the operations of all survey tools
  • Engineering principles, terminology, and standard symbols
  • Common survey procedures, terminology, and equipment
  • City construction specifications and regulations
  • Safety policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Operate survey instruments, specialized computer software and applications
  • Make neat, legible drawings and letterings in pencil or ink
  • Plot on existing drawings
  • Operate assigned vehicle in the course of duty, in a proper and safe manner
