Starr Regional Medical Center is actively seeking qualified individuals to fulfill the role of Registered Nurse (RN) within our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position is permanent and full-time.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting initial and ongoing evaluations of patient health status.
- Developing a tailored care plan that addresses identified issues while engaging the patient based on their abilities and preferences.
- Overseeing and guiding nursing and support personnel during the assigned shift.
- Assisting in determining staffing requirements and assignments based on staff availability, competencies, patient census, acuity, and workflow.
- Delivering direct patient care as necessary.
- Collaborating with staff to facilitate problem resolution.
- Taking on patient assignments to fulfill staffing needs.
- Assessing the effectiveness of patient care and identifying factors that may impact desired outcomes.
- Addressing concerns regarding patient care and related services through established protocols.
- Executing role-specific tasks as assigned, including processing orders, managing admissions or discharges, and coordinating patient transfers.
- Ensuring that staff have the necessary tools and supplies to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing: Required
- Bachelor's degree: Preferred
- Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee or another compact state: Required
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire or upon transfer to a new department requiring these credentials
