Position Overview:
Chipton-Ross is currently seeking a Filling Technician I for a contract role.

SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will be required to undergo initial hazardous waste training within the first 30 days of their assignment. This training will encompass various essential topics such as identifying hazardous and solid waste, managing hazardous waste, recycling processes, treatment and disposal methods, emergency preparedness, maintaining records, pollution prevention, and waste reduction strategies.

Upon completion of the initial training, the individual will participate in annual refresher courses covering the same topics.

The Filling Technician should be adept at handling organics, including flammable solvents, strong acids and bases, potential biohazards (such as raw animal serums), large-scale bacterial cultures, and other hazardous materials.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate a range of semi-automated and manual filling machinery.
  • Utilize various industrial equipment, including fork trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Ensure accurate completion of manufacturing documentation in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
  • Assist the department by staging raw materials, cleaning laboratory equipment, off-loading automated filling lines, and providing support as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of the metric system.
  • Capability to wear personal protective equipment when necessary, including full-face respirators.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Accredited High School Diploma or GED is required.


WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position on the second shift.
