Job Summary

As a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor at Henry County Medical Center, you will oversee the scheduling, time-off requests, and performance evaluations of Central Sterile processing staff. You will establish policies and standards for the processing, handling, and distribution of sterile items, ensuring rotation of sterile instruments and surgical instrument trays. Additionally, you will monitor sterilization records and quality assurance, providing pertinent information to infection control when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order items and equipment within the central sterile department as needed, maintaining PAR levels and monitoring sterile supplies for integrity and outdating.
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding scheduled surgical cases, canceled cases, and re-scheduled cases to ensure availability of special instruments and/or implants.
  • Responsible for repairs of equipment, monitoring, and control of all equipment, including warranty and non-warranty equipment, and recording repairs.
  • Liaise between Surgery and Materials Management for equipment, supplies, repairs, charges, pricing, and physician requests.
  • Travel to other hospital facilities for emergency supplies and equipment on request.
Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technician or Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
