Role Responsibilities

The RN Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing in delivering efficient and effective nursing care, ensuring positive clinical outcomes, and maintaining patient, family, and employee satisfaction.

  • Report directly to the Director of Nursing.
  • Lead and oversee the clinical operations of nursing units during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of care delivery models and processes, mentoring staff, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure adequate nursing staff levels for safe, 24/7 care, focusing on minimizing overtime and agency personnel usage.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, and provide recommendations for promotions, transfers, and terminations.

Qualifications

A graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing. A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience is preferred, with at least two years in long-term care and one year in a management or supervisory role.
