Position: Project Manager S4 HANA

Role Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for orchestrating, executing, and delivering projects within specified timelines, budgets, and scopes aligned with organizational priorities. Throughout the project lifecycle, the manager monitors progress and leads project teams to address challenges and risks effectively. This role requires close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating professional expertise to ensure the highest quality of deliverables. The Project Manager will also leverage subject matter knowledge to identify, develop, and implement strategies that enhance workflow efficiency, manage project timelines, mitigate risks, resolve challenges, and optimize cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish project scope, objectives, benefits, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans encompassing all technical and non-technical tasks from initiation to completion.
  • Work alongside Product Managers and Business Leads to define success metrics and evaluation criteria.

2. Project Delivery:

  • Lead project execution with an emphasis on timeliness, budget adherence, scope management, quality assurance, and stability.
  • Assess trade-offs among project size, complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
  • Build, guide, and mentor multiple project teams throughout their lifecycle.
  • Facilitate operational checkpoints and ensure compliance with organizational project management standards.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to communicate project status against objectives, escalate unresolved issues, and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Identify and mitigate high-priority project risks to ensure successful outcomes and return on investment.

3. Communication & Collaboration:

  • Develop and manage dashboards and key performance indicators to enhance transparency and support decision-making (e.g., Cost, Usage, Performance, Scale, Errors).
  • Provide clear updates to cross-functional team leaders and senior management regarding project status, resource needs, challenges, and priorities.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and address risks and issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with teams to foster trust and ensure effective delivery across business units.
  • Report weekly through online dashboards to present real-time data on program and project delivery to executive leadership.

4. Management and Coordination:

  • Serve as the lead Project Manager across multiple initiatives, supporting other Project Managers.
  • Ensure consistency in reporting, governance, and delivery across all Project Managers.
  • Oversee resource management, including onboarding and offboarding processes.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Five to seven years of experience in project management, particularly with technology-driven projects.
  • Prior experience with ERP implementations, specifically S4 HANA.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Familiarity with data standards and regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative).
  • Advanced experience in managing projects using JIRA and PowerBI.
  • Proficient in Project and Portfolio Management tools (Visio, MS Project, JIRA, Clarity).
  • Self-motivated decision-maker with excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong consensus-building capabilities.
  • Proficient in relationship-building and leadership.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced development cycles and uncertainty.
  • Experienced in budget management and collaboration with Finance and Program Leads.
  • Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Able to anticipate and address risks effectively.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • In-depth understanding of project management principles.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
