Essential Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
    • Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program; the curriculum should encompass pharmacology and medication administration. Certification or registry must be achieved by the end of the sixth month of employment, with an education agreement signed. Acceptable certifications include CMA from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA from the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), and others as specified. Alternative work experience may qualify candidates for certification exams if not already certified upon hire.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA is required.
  • Additional Skills: Capability to successfully complete both generic and department-specific skills validation and competency assessments.
