Quality and Food Safety Manager - Lincoln, NE
This is an exempt level position.
Job Summary:
The Quality and Food Safety Manager is responsible for providing quality and food safety support and leadership within the ADM Milling Division, and more specifically, throughout his/her facility.
This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support Various Systems:
- ADM Weigh, APecS, Sphera, PolicyTech, TLC
- Food Safety and Quality Audits:
- Leads audits
- Performs annual tasks as needed for compliance
- Production Support:
- Interacts with plant management and ADM resources to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Quality and Food Safety Requirements:
- Develops and implements quality and food safety requirements for Human Food and Animal Food, when applicable
- Monitors the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and manufactured products
- Manages prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management System
- Actively participates in employee development
- Creates, supports, and facilitates quality and food safety training
- Assists with internal auditing
- Developing Processes:
- Oversees and implements Cost of Poor Quality
- Assists with the IA (Intentional Adulteration) FSMA implementation - Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment
- Oversees non-conformity investigations; assures root cause analysis and review is conducted
- Manage and Lead Others:
- Manages Quality Control team and ensures analytical programs provide adequate support to operations and accurate results to customers
- Effectively leads all facility colleagues to establish understanding of food safety and quality standards and drive improvement in food safety culture
Job Qualifications:
- Preferred 4-year degree or equivalent 7 years Food Safety experience
- Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained
- Working knowledge of Document Management (PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases
- Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Must be organized, possess time management skills, and be able to meet deadlines
- Ability to make decisions based on information and data available
- Ability to work as a team member and provide training
- Demonstrate experience of effective leadership
Working Conditions:
