Recovery Support Specialist II: Community Support Program

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recovery Support Specialist II to join our Community Support Program team in Enfield, CT. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support services to individuals with serious mental illness, empowering them to live independently and achieve their recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive clinical and risk assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with clients to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans and document progress.
- Utilize motivational interventions to assist clients in meeting their goals and moving along their paths to recovery.
- Provide psycho-educational rehabilitation services, including group and individual sessions, to support recovery from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
- Support clients in linking and engaging with natural and community supports, including family, friends, and community resources.
- Develop crisis plans and work with other staff to respond to crisis situations as needed.
- Provide skills teaching, such as assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining housing and utilities, learning transportation services, planning and preparing nutritional meals, and engaging with family and friends.
- Participate in family education and support activities.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Valid Recovery Support Certification.
- High School Diploma required, Life experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with identified populations; self-identifies as an individual with Mental Health and/or Substance use disorder in long-term Recovery.
- Advocacy Unlimited: Recovery Support Specialist Certification required or must obtain within one year of hired.
