Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Danbury Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in preparing and administering radio pharmaceuticals to detect and treat disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position equipment (gamma cameras) over patients to make images that allow physicians to identify abnormal areas and diagnose illnesses.
  • Explain tests to patients and administer radioactive doses by mouth or injection, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Follow strict safety regulations to minimize the risks associated with radiation exposure.
  • Perform quality control on cameras to ensure accurate and reliable imaging results.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position, adhering to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Registry eligibility is required; ARRT or CNMT Nuclear Medicine Registered certification is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in nuclear medicine is desired.
Working Conditions

This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will be exposed to a fast-paced environment with occasional occupational risks. Physical demands include exerting up to 50 pounds of force and working in areas with dirt, odor, noise, and human waste.

Danbury Hospital offers competitive rates, perks, and benefits, including shift differentials based on full years of experience. This is a union role with a salary range of $45-$56.26 per hour, depending on experience.
