Responsibilities:

  • Primary Point of Contact: Labor and Delivery RNs serve as the primary point of contact for family members, providing emotional support and guidance throughout the labor process.
  • Newborn Care: L&D RNs monitor baby's heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn, ensuring a smooth transition to post-partum care.
  • Medication Administration: Labor and Delivery RNs administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
  • Education and Support: L&D RNs educate and support new mothers and families on infant care, empowering them to provide the best possible care for their newborn.



Requirements:

  • Knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV, and central lines
  • Assessment and recording of maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
