Front Desk Sales Associate Overview
The Front Desk Sales Associate is responsible for welcoming and guiding members, guests, and staff as they enter the facility, ensuring a secure and organized front entrance.

This role involves assisting members with their inquiries regarding gym operations and policies, while also executing various administrative tasks as assigned by the Gym General Manager or Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greets each member and guest promptly, using the appropriate greeting for the time of day to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Maintains security and oversight of the front entrance and retail space.
  • Accurately checks in each member using established procedures.
  • Monitors check-ins to identify overdue accounts and informs the Gym Operations Supervisor.
  • Registers all guests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Directs guests and appointments to the correct fitness consultant in a timely and professional manner.
  • Answers phone calls within three rings, utilizing proper greeting techniques.
  • Takes note of caller requests and/or messages, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Records all telephone inquiries in the designated log and transfers calls to the appropriate Fitness Consultants.
  • Follows up on telephone inquiries to confirm appointment bookings.
  • Responds promptly to member requests, inquiries, and concerns.
  • Maintains a tidy appearance and adheres to uniform standards while on duty.
  • Distributes keys, towels, and other necessary materials as required.
  • Processes retail and concession transactions efficiently.
  • Participates in all staff meetings as required.
  • Conducts gym walk-throughs as outlined in the walk-through log.
  • Adheres to proper opening and closing procedures as detailed in the training manual.
  • Logs maintenance issues reported by members.
  • Identifies and reports any safety concerns.
  • Informs management of any incidents requiring documentation.
  • Works according to the scheduled shifts and complies with company attendance policies.
  • Completes other reasonable tasks as directed by the Gym General Manager and/or Operations Supervisor, including light cleaning and organizing equipment.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
  • Effective communication skills with both staff and members are necessary.
  • Proficient verbal, non-verbal, and written communication abilities are required.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles is necessary.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures is required.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be flexible with work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
