About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, you will play a critical role in supporting plasma center operations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, ensuring that each donor meets the necessary criteria for plasma collection. This includes conducting thorough medical history interviews, reviewing laboratory test results, and evaluating donor reactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination
  • Manage donor adverse events and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance as necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
