About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Michelman. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing capital and expense projects that support our Americas facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop project scope and deliverables based on project proposals and requests, and ensure project deliverables are aligned with business needs.
  • Project Cost Estimation and Management: Estimate project cost and schedule based on experience and utilize external resources as necessary, and manage project cost and schedule throughout the project cycle.
  • Project Stakeholder Management: Engage with project stakeholders for feedback and review throughout the project process, and ensure the project team understands their role and deliverables to ensure safe and successful project start up and transition into permanent operations.
  • Project Safety and Quality: Accountable for ensuring the safe commissioning and start-up of new assets through active engagement with Operations, Maintenance and Process Engineering teams, and support safety initiatives (PHAs, Contractor Safety Programs, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, LOTO, etc.).
  • Process Improvement: Support Process Engineering efforts to optimize plant operations through capital and expense projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity while lowering cost.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support other project engineers and co-ops working in the project engineering department.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 7+ years of project engineering/project management experience is preferred, and a Bachelor of Science in chemical or mechanical engineer is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Detailed knowledge of chemical processing equipment including pumps, mixers, valves, heat exchangers, boilers, cooling towers, and compressors, and experience with process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, ability to think independently and handle projects through to completion, and high levels of self-motivation, initiative, and interpersonal skill.
