Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare Corporation. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing testing procedures, including Adult Echocardiograms, Stress Echo Treadmill, TEE, Electrocardiographs, and Pediatric Echocardiograms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize orders according to medical necessity.
  • Data Integrity
    • Identify correct patient chart by verification of correct Cardiology number and MRN.
    • Verify correct procedure by schedule book or by contacting ordering physician.
    • Complete necessary pre-test paperwork with all identification and information needed by reading physician.
    • Ensure accurate technical data is acquired, recorded, and prepared for interpretation.
    • Ensure proper charges are generated for completed procedures.
  • Operations
    • Demonstrate knowledge of proper procedure in care of equipment for cardio procedures qualified to perform.
    • Recognize and report unusual occurrences to the appropriate supervisor.
    • Demonstrate ability to assist physicians and staff.
    • Provide physicians with requested information.
    • Provide testing procedures in a timely manner.
  • Education
    • Demonstrate knowledge of designated testing procedures and related handling of acquired data specific to: electrocardiographic, procedure and machine care; pacemaker - check equipment, procedures and care; patient instructions and machine care, screening/arrhythmia detection.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of two-dimentional and m-mode echocardiographic procedures.
    • Perform all calculations and measurements in preparation for interpretation of data.
    • Perform pediatric echos.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system.
  • Compliance/Safety
    • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
    • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
    • If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
    • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Certification & Licensures
    • ARDMS or CCI - Required; or graduates of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program must obtain the ARDMS or CCI within 6 months from the date of hire and will only work as provisional staff under appropriate supervision of an NAH credentialed Lead Sonographer until credentialed.
    • BLS (American Heart Association) - Required
    • RCCS: Pediatric congenital and adult congenital cardiac ultrasound certification - Preferred
  • Experience
    • Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
