Job Summary

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is a leading beverage wholesaler seeking a skilled Merchandising Specialist to join our Total Wine & More Sales team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth by effectively merchandising our products in retail stores across Grand Rapids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Merchandising and Sales Execution
    • Timely stocking and product handling of all GLWAS merchandise shipped to assigned retail accounts stores.
    • Collaborate with store level personnel to ensure effective placement of shelf products and in-store displays.
    • Assess the effectiveness of different product displays and display locations.
  • Customer Service and Relationship Building
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail store managers and staff.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Inventory Management and Control
    • Manage GLWAS product conditions within the store to ensure optimal inventory levels.
    • Work with GLWAS District Managers and Area Managers to address product out of stocks.
  • Administrative and Reporting Tasks
    • Correctly run workday according to plan.
    • Maintain and use reports, forms, and pre-plans.
    • Communicate daily with Manager.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum 21 years of age.
    • Minimum HS Diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred).
    • 2 years sales experience (preferred).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Basic competency with basic iOS devices.
    • Ability to lift, stack, move, and rotate items without handles that weigh up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Operate in the field with daily travel, driving in all weather conditions.
    • Time spent in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment.
    • Work environment will vary based on account stops.
