Instructional Faculty in Computer Science Position

About the Position
The Virginia Tech Department of Computer Science is seeking applicants for multiple non-tenure-track instructional faculty positions at the Innovation Campus in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the department's teaching mission at the graduate level and engage with external partners in the development and execution of curricular experiences.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses, developing and implementing curricula, and engaging in scholarly activities. You will also have the opportunity to participate in department and professional service, as well as mentor graduate students.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field and significant professional experience in a computing-related field. For collegiate faculty, an earned Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field by appointment start date is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability in higher education instruction and/or public or private sector practice, with promise for being a leader in the instructional mission. An interest in engaging with external partners in the development and execution of curricular experiences. Demonstrated interest in curriculum development and innovation, particularly project-based learning and experiential learning opportunities. Contributions to improving the diversity of the discipline, and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
