Job Summary

The Shipping Dispatch Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless Dachser controlled transportation operations. This position is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound traffic, guaranteeing that internal and external customer needs are met with exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate shipping customer orders with precision.
  • Direct vendor management for local needs, aligning with regional guidance for LTL, FTL, and Drayage services.
  • Distribute relevant KPI and reporting data internally and externally.
  • Optimize carrier utilization through effective coordination.
  • Manage shipping team and vendor performance.
  • Ensure Dachser internal operating systems processes are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with all departments within the branch and company, adhering to regional guidance.
  • Streamline processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements.
  • Create and document processes.
  • Generate and issue customer invoices.
  • Verify supplier costs and make necessary corrections.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • 3 years of leadership experience in International Freight, Domestic forwarding, or logistics required.
  • Proven expertise in all areas of shipment of goods.
  • Experience with TMS and Warehouse Management System preferred.
  • Demonstrated language proficiency in English.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills and proficiency with Windows programs, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Great organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Environment
  • No heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force may be required.
  • Manual dexterity for common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
  • Sitting for extended periods is common.
  • Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and prepare or inspect documents.
  • This position is performed in a traditional office setting.
  • Travel is not required.
