About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Rapides Regional Medical Center. As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory therapy department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- CPR for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
