Medical Laboratory Specialist

The Medical Technologist is a vital member of our laboratory team, responsible for collecting and preparing specimens, performing laboratory procedures, and verifying, recording, and reporting lab results in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Perform various laboratory tests on specimens, evaluating test results according to predefined criteria, and reporting/entering/verifying test results in the Laboratory Information System.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and take corrective action or notify laboratory management or medical director.
- Document all corrective actions taken when systems deviate from laboratory-established performance specifications.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a chemical/physical/biological or other life science, with relevant generalist clinical laboratory experience within the last five years.
- National Registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent (e.g., AMT, AAB, HEW), or registry-eligible at date of hire.
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all staff, patients, patient families, and vendors.
