Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Waste Recovery

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at MarBorg Recovery. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation of equipment at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) runs smoothly.
Your primary focus will be on performing preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. You will work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor to diagnose defects, generate work orders, and evaluate repair work on its completion.
This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your technical skills and knowledge of electrical and control systems to maintain and repair heavy equipment. If you have experience working with conveyor belts, motors, hydraulic systems, and fabrication projects, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned maintenance inspection (PM), diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment.
- Make necessary repairs to plant production equipment and support equipment as required.
- Maintain inventory control of maintenance repair parts and work with outside vendors to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Schedule and set priorities for maintenance and repair work on equipment, establish and adjust work procedures to meet production needs.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A strong background in mechanical repair, preferably in a manufacturing or waste management setting.
- Experience working with heavy equipment, including conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, and fabrication projects.
- The ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including diagrams, sketches, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
