Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum Development Specialist to join our team at Jewish Family and Children's Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing educational programs for the JFCS Holocaust Center throughout California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop and implement educational programs and resources for teachers and educators.
  • Provide individual coaching and support to guide teachers in implementing standards-based lessons and resources.
  • Design and facilitate professional development workshops for educators on topics of Holocaust and genocide education.
  • Curate and develop the digital library of educational resources for the California Teachers Collaborative.
  • Review and revise curriculum to ensure alignment with California Common Core Standards and the curriculum guidelines of the California Teachers Collaborative.
  • Build relationships with Educator Leadership Council members and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
  • Credentialed teacher with strong experience in Holocaust and genocide education.
  • Knowledge of Jewish history, tradition, community, and culture.
  • Prior experience developing the capacity of teachers in a leadership, coaching/mentorship, or professional development role.
  • Technical skills including intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suites.
  • Ability to work onsite during business hours and occasional weekends and evening hours to support program activities.
  • Ability to travel 5-6 times a year throughout California to meet with teachers, visit schools, and attend educational conferences.
