Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform advanced technical/engineering problem-solving in support of nuclear plant operations, responsible for technical decisions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application, as well as detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision, applying engineering principles.
- Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
- Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
- Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, with an emphasis on performing structural, seismic, and/or geotechnical analysis. A PE License in Civil Engineering is a plus. Experience in performing structural/seismic analysis or modifications for nuclear power plants, as well as experience in using Mathcad to perform analytical calculations, is highly desirable. Analytical/FEA modeling using STAAD.Pro, GTStrudl, SAP2000, SAFE Concrete, and/or ANSYS software is also a requirement.
The salary range for this position is $72K - $141K per year, based on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.
