About the Role: As a Veterinary Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our oncologists and technicians. Your responsibilities will include assisting with procedures, administering medications, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Animal restraint and handling
  • Assisting with chemotherapy administration and patient preparation
  • Performing routine laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalyses
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the veterinary team
  • Providing a positive experience for clients and their pets
  • Stocking and restocking supplies, cleaning exam rooms, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Assisting with radiography and other diagnostic procedures
  • Administering medications and fluids under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian or technician

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an animal healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that included animal restraint and radiography.

Physical Requirements: This role requires frequent bending, lifting, and standing, as well as regular exposure to animals and potential allergens.

Skill Requirements: Strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in animal restraint.

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus opportunities for professional growth and development within our organization. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
