Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Instrumentation Technician to enhance our operational capabilities. This role is essential for the upkeep and improvement of our Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associated control apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Management: Oversee and refine our Distributed Control Systems and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Lead the repair and calibration of malfunctioning control systems, and meticulously set up new equipment.
  • Collaborative Troubleshooting: Partner with project engineers and technicians to diagnose equipment issues and support project initiation activities.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Participate in audits and investigations, updating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as necessary.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage procurement processes, including purchase requisitions and contractor oversight.
  • Facility Support: Maintain calibration records and ensure adherence to mechanical and electrical specifications across the facility.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive enhancements in Preventative Maintenance activities and ensure compliance with facility standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, fostering skill development within the team.
  • DCS Expertise: Manage configuration changes for Delta V systems and lead hardware and software upgrades.

Essential Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree or equivalent training with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person status as defined by regulatory standards.
  • 4 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation calibration and controls.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Distributed Control Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAS degree in Electronics or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Delta V systems.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Advanced skills in using calibration tools and managing calibration software.
  • Experience with gas chromatographs and pyrometer calibration.
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
