At TechFlow, Inc., we are seeking a dedicated Wastewater Management Technician to oversee the operation of sewage treatment and sludge processing systems. This role involves managing the flow and treatment of wastewater, monitoring control panels, and manually or remotely adjusting valves and gates to ensure optimal sewage processing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Initiating and halting pumps, engines, and generators to manage the flow of raw sewage through various treatment processes.
- Maintaining accurate logs of operations and recording meter readings.
- Providing guidance to plant attendants and sewage disposal personnel in routine operations and maintenance tasks.
- Collecting sewage samples and conducting laboratory tests using specialized equipment.
- Adding necessary chemicals to the wastewater, including chlorine and ammonia.
- Cleaning tanks and filter beds to maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitoring and maintaining pumps and related equipment.
- Conducting repairs and lubrication of machinery.
- Inspecting various pumps and ventilation systems.
- Testing wastewater samples to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Recording data and observations to monitor plant processes.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in using testing tools such as colorimeters and conductivity meters.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent technical and organizational abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices and safety regulations.
- Able to interpret operation manuals effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability in various work situations.
- Strong prioritization skills to ensure timely task completion.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Specialized training in Water Operations or Sewage Plant Operations.
- Wastewater Certification III.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- U.S. citizenship is required for access to certain facilities.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including climbing and balancing.
- Capability to lift and carry moderate-weight objects.
- Occasional handling of heavier materials (up to 50 pounds).
- Potential exposure to various environmental conditions, including hazardous materials and extreme temperatures.
