The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer and monitor medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, documenting all interventions and patient responses.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their care and recovery.
- Delegate and supervise the work of other nursing staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of evidence-based practices.
- Current NJ RN License
- 0-1 year of experience in PACU or similar setting, with 2-4 years preferred
- Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
