Dental Hygienist

Marin City Health and Wellness Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team in Marin City and Bayview clinics. Our clinical sites provide comprehensive family health services, including dental care, to the community.
Job Summary:As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing dental hygiene treatment to children and adults in a primary care setting. Your duties will include:
- Providing dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing, as well as periodontal maintenance and gross debridement.
- Applying preventive agents, such as fluoride and sealants, to tooth surfaces and assisting the dentist as needed.
- Performing full and complete periodontal exams and charting conditions for further diagnosis and treatment.
- Administering local anesthetic agents and maintaining dental equipment, sharpening and managing instruments.
- Maintaining standards of infection control and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Provide clinical services and health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients.
- Record and review patient medical histories and introduce and monitor patient self-management goals.
- Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, engaged in routine and preventive dental care.
- Flexibility in meeting patient needs and able to work evenings and Saturday clinics.
- California State License to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- One to four years of dental hygienist experience working in a primary care clinic setting.
- High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients.
- Excellent organization, writing, and verbal skills.
- English proficiency required; Spanish proficiency preferred.
The Registered Dental Hygienist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, providing dental care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Physical Demands:The physical demands of this position include standing and walking for approximately 30% of the workday, with the remaining 70% spent sitting at a desk or chairside. The Registered Dental Hygienist will also be required to perform occasional bending, stooping, and climbing stairs.
Travel Requirements:The Registered Dental Hygienist may be required to travel to and work at other MCHWC locations, including the Mobile Dental Van.
