Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service as a top priority, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Department Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Grocery and Bulk Departments, including training, directing, and monitoring department staff.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering, and receiving, ensuring that the departments are always fully stocked and merchandised.
  • Profitability: Analyze sales data and make informed decisions to maximize department profitability, minimize shrink, and optimize purchasing.
  • Merchandising: Create visually appealing displays, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and ensure that all products meet company standards.
  • Staff Development: Train and develop department staff, including assigning tasks, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other department managers to cross-train staff, share best practices, and achieve common goals.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with store management, staff, and customers, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned with department goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in retail, preferably in a grocery or natural foods environment.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with experience supervising others and managing a team.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to multitask, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Ability to pass food safety training courses and obtain forklift certification.
