About the Job

The Nurse Extern role is an exciting opportunity for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program to gain valuable clinical experience while earning a competitive salary. In this position, you will work closely with our registered nurses to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, assisting with daily living activities and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients.

TriStar Summit Medical Center is a 200-bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties. We offer a full range of acute care services, including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation, and women's services. As a Primary Stroke Center and Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, we prioritize delivering timely, evidence-based care to our patients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care by performing delegated tasks related to common nursing functions and daily living activities.
  • Work collaboratively with registered nurses to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program, possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training is required within 30 days of employment start date.
