Job Overview

This position involves the proficient operation of light buses and vans, dedicated to transporting young clients to and from designated service providers and pre-arranged locations. The role is specifically with The Kidz Club, focusing on children from birth to 21 years with intricate medical requirements. Flexible employment opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete the required training program within the first month of employment:
    • Hands-on training alongside an experienced driver
    • Participation in an online training course
  • Safely transport clients to and from designated service providers, adhering to a planned route and schedule while maintaining effective communication with parents and staff.
  • Drive the vehicle with caution, following all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the safety of all passengers during loading, unloading, and transportation to and from designated locations.
  • Familiarize yourself with passenger assistance protocols and restraint procedures.
  • Operate both manual and remote-controlled wheelchair lifts as needed.
  • Adjust heating and ventilation systems in the vehicle for passenger comfort.
  • Maintain daily logs of vehicle inspections (lights, tires, etc.) and cleanliness, documenting any findings or concerns.
  • Conduct weekly checks of water, gas, oil, and overall mechanical condition of the vehicle.
  • Promptly report any delays or accidents.
  • Immediately inform the Director of Transportation about any vehicle defects or issues.
  • Keep operational records and prepare simple reports as required.
  • Ensure the vehicle adheres to regular maintenance schedules.
  • Perform related duties as necessary, including cleaning the vehicle when needed.

Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour

Qualifications

  • Understanding of traffic and highway safety regulations, along with necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
  • Ability to accurately complete various forms and records, including route sheets, timesheets, and incident reports.
  • Proficiency in basic computer functions and smartphone usage.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
