Job Title: Ground Beef Maintenance Manager
Reporting to: Maintenance Superintendent
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of technicians, providing guidance and leadership to the maintenance department within the facility.
- Manage daily repairs of electrical and electronic components across various production systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Assist in formulating preventative maintenance programs for electrical systems, including procurement of parts and materials, as well as maintaining organized inventory and processing work orders for maintenance activities.
- Supervise repairs and preventive maintenance on all weighing equipment in the facility, ensuring compliance with calibration standards and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers and related systems.
- Involves working with instrumentation, motor control circuits, alarm systems, and scales.
- Oversee the installation of new equipment and manage wiring tasks.
- Plan and implement maintenance operations to optimize production while ensuring adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and legal standards.
- Foster employee engagement through training and development initiatives aimed at achieving manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity objectives.
- Participate actively in the plant's HAZMAT team.
- Schedule and direct the workforce, assigning projects to suitable personnel and managing attendance records.
- Conduct safety meetings and perform safety audits to ensure compliance.
- Manage the maintenance department's budgetary costs effectively.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent and Plant Engineer.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or technical schooling with a focus on mechanical or electrical disciplines is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience is essential.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in welding and electrical systems is mandatory.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, with flexible hours including some weekends.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong leadership and critical thinking abilities, with effective conflict management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and maintain mobility for extended periods.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles.
