Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Utilize janitorial equipment and cleaning supplies to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of all public and staff areas, including outdoor trash cans and grounds.
  • Janitorial Operations: Maintain janitorial areas and products in accordance with OSHA standards, safely using cleaning chemicals and solvents.
  • Reporting and Communication: Notify supervisors of building conditions requiring repairs and monitor levels of cleaning supplies and paper products.
  • Facilities Support: Clean glass, windows, doors, light switches, walls, and drinking fountains.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Any combination of experience or education that demonstrates the ability to perform the work, including physical strength and agility required by the position.
  • Skills and Abilities: Quickly learn janitorial procedures, operate an automotive vehicle safely, lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, work independently or cooperatively as a member of a team, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk, sit, and talk or hear, occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Work Environment: Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderately noisy environments.
