Cafeteria Manager Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cafeteria Manager to oversee the food service program at one of our elementary or K-8 school cafeterias. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the food service program, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the food service program at an assigned cafeteria
  • Prepare breakfast and lunch items, heat, prepare, and serve meals
  • Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel
  • Maintain an efficient and financially sound operation
  • Prepare and submit records as required
  • Consult with school principal, Food Services Supervisor, and Food Services Director regarding cafeteria needs and conditions
Requirements:
  • Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and increasingly responsible experience in quantity food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance
  • Valid California driver's license
  • County Health Services Approved Food Handler Certificate
Working Conditions:
  • Cafeteria environment
  • Exposure to hot foods, equipment, and metal objects
  • Driving a vehicle to conduct work as required
