Job Summary:

As a Therapeutic Recreation Therapist - PRN, you will be responsible for establishing a plan of care and implementing individual treatment based on evaluation results, functional goals, and utilizing appropriate techniques. You will monitor and evaluate outcomes and adjust individualized treatment plans as needed. Additionally, you will identify factors affecting patient comfort and attend to these needs, educate and train patients in adaptive recreational skills, and plan for patient discharge. You will also complete all required documentation, including patient initial evaluations, progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records patient care and progress.

Responsibilities:

Establish a plan of care and implement individual treatment based on evaluation results, functional goals, and utilizing appropriate techniques.
Monitor and evaluate outcomes and adjust individualized treatment plans as needed.
Identify factors affecting patient comfort and attend to these needs.
Educate and train patients in adaptive recreational skills.
Plan for patient discharge, including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, and referral for community services.
Complete all required documentation, including patient initial evaluations, progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records patient care and progress.

Requirements:

Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, twist, reach above shoulders, and squat throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present, and have functional use of senses to allow for effective communication.
May be exposed to blood and body fluids through patient contact and to varnishes/spray sealers on a limited basis; therefore must have ability to wear protective clothing as needed.
Position may require travel; therefore may be exposed to road and weather hazards.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
