Salary
As a patient care specialist in our endoscopy unit, you can expect a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
Job Description
Our patient care specialist will be responsible for assisting the endoscopy staff with patient care in a timely and accurate manner. This includes providing emotional and psychosocial support for patients, sterilizing and cleaning supplies and equipment according to established standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating with healthcare team members to coordinate the delivery of patient care. You will also be responsible for handling and transporting medications and solutions safely, in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Graduate degree, medical terminology course or 1 year experience in the health field. You must also be able to communicate in English verbally and legibly, stand/work for up to twelve hours a day, lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs, and transport patients on a stretcher or bed as necessary.
