Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team as an Infrastructure Specialist. As a key member of our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team, you will provide technical support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans and specifications for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct site surveys to collect project data and research relevant construction codes and ordinances.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during site surveys.
  • Compile and complete project documents, including scope of work, project transmittal, drawing and specification lists, and operational risk management checklists.
  • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects, including evaluating shop drawings, design proposals, and interpreting technical requirements.
  • Participate in joint acceptance inspections and contractor acceptance inspections on assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on engineering-related items.
  • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter on project planning, budgeting, programming, and coordination.
  • Develop project drawings in accordance with FAA standards and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field, with 4+ years of experience in civil engineering design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects.
  • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD and knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, and site work.
