Material Handler

Malco Products Inc. is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely operating material handling equipment, including tow motors, pallet jacks, and shrink-wrap machines. You will also be responsible for setting up automotive orders, performing designated activities for assigned production lines, and moving components and finished goods into storage in accordance with all accepted quality and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and follow Malco's Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
• Understand and follow procedures and work instructions applicable to the job function.
• Understand and follow all company policies in the Malco Hourly Employee Handbook, and MEIU Union contract policies.
• Safely operate material handling equipment, including tow motors, pallet jacks, and shrink-wrap machines.
• Ability to set up automotive orders.
• Perform designated activities for assigned production lines.
• Move components and finished goods into storage in accordance with all accepted quality and safety practices.
• Identify quality issues and take corrective action.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Perform cycle counts on components as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.
• Coordinate and assist raw material transfer from the first and third floors.
• Work with bar coding equipment.
• Keep work area clean and neat following housekeeping procedures.

Requirements:

1. Must be able to work 4, 10-hour workdays; works overtime as needed for the successful operation of the plant.
2. Must have good reading and writing skills; must be able to perform simple arithmetic.
3. Must have hazardous materials training.
4. Must be capable of following verbal and written instructions.
5. Must be able to work as a part of the distribution team.
6. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
7. Must successfully pass any required testing.
8. May be required to temporarily transfer between plants and/or shift based on business needs.
