Job Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical Systems Inspector to join our Program Management/Construction Management team. As an Electrical Systems Inspector, you will provide design compliance reviews, oversight, and inspection services on various rail and transit projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Resident Engineer in documenting construction activity related to transportation facility construction.
  • Assist in monitoring construction contractor activity, including the installation of electrical, communications equipment, and fixtures in transit facilities.
  • Monitor adherence to approved plans, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Complete and submit a Daily Construction Report according to client procedures.
  • Interface with the construction workforce, pointing out conditions that may lead to unsatisfactory work while maintaining a professional and courteous manner.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with the Contractors Safety and Health Plan and Safe Work Plans.
  • Ensure contractors comply with the approved Contractors Quality Plan in coordination with Quality specialists on-site.
  • Identify deficient contractor work and monitor its correction.
  • Participate in the review of finalized Record Drawings submitted by the Contractor.
  • Contribute information for daily manpower, materials, and equipment reports, as well as weekly progress summaries.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field.
  • At least 8+ years of experience working on construction projects in construction inspection and daily report writing preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety course certification preferred.
  • Experience working with local and NJ State transportation agencies required.
  • Strong commitment to innovation, collaboration, and integrity.
