Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Occupational Therapist to join our team at Resilient Healthcare. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing, recovering, or maintaining the daily living and work skills of individuals with physical, mental, or developmental conditions.

About the Role

  • You will provide effective and client-centered services that empower individuals to perform everyday tasks and activities confidently and independently.
  • Utilize your holistic perspective to adapt environments to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients' aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that impact health, well-being, and quality of life.
  • Select and apply the most suitable occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach to direct interventions.
  • Implement interventions to maximize safety and performance in daily living activities (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
  • Teach clients new strategies for approaching tasks and educate them on breaking down activities into manageable components.
  • Evaluate clients' home and other environments and advise on necessary alterations based on their needs and capabilities.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and provide training on its use.
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
  • Monitor progress towards long- and short-term treatment goals.
  • Document processes followed and collect relevant data.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with clients.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with computer programs and creative media.
  • Familiarity with ADL evaluation tools, such as the Katz ADL scale and Lawton IADL scale.
  • Ability to manage patients with diverse personalities.
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices within the discipline and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Professional behavior and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • A valid license to practice occupational therapy.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in occupational therapy.
