Overview:

The Supply Chain Communication Strategist is responsible for overseeing the creation, design, content, and dissemination of information directed towards distribution centers and fleet managers, focusing on Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Store Operations initiatives. This role includes organizing Supply Chain meetings and workshops, as well as preparing and facilitating weekly meetings to discuss and follow up on essential distribution initiatives and responsibilities. Additionally, the strategist will create and maintain communication schedules and a workflow calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with various corporate departments to ensure timely and organized communication releases for Distribution and Fleet Managers, critically assessing the necessity of all communications to minimize volume.
  • Maintain a workflow calendar to effectively schedule distribution center events.
  • Support inter-departmental communication regarding Supply Chain strategic initiatives.
  • Work with distribution center leaders and other departments to develop agendas and materials for regular weekly meetings.

Effective Communication

  • Oversee the development and utilization of the employee communication platform for distribution centers.
  • Coordinate the ongoing design, maintenance, and administration of the Distribution site on the company intranet.
  • Prepare content and facilitate meetings to review key distribution initiatives.
  • Manage the standardization, development, and production of all communications for distribution centers, collaborating with departments such as Legal and HR to ensure clarity and effectiveness.
  • Write and edit communication content as necessary.
  • Ensure that all messaging aligns with corporate guidelines and effectively communicates company initiatives.

Event Coordination

  • Lead the organization and coordination of Supply Chain workshops and meetings, including leadership meetings and monthly business reviews.
  • Facilitate materials for distribution center visits and reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in technical writing and creating complex communication materials.
  • Excellent proofreading skills to ensure error-free documentation.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and operational principles.
  • Understanding of pre-press and print production processes.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for conveying direction and expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and group communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Layout and design skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with standard proofreading marks.
  • A service-oriented and team-focused approach to work.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in communications and management within a corporate environment.
